The State of Climate Philanthropy in Canada

There is $106 million in total climate philanthropy in Canada. That amounts to just 0.9% of total giving, placing us well below the global average. The Clean Economy Fund released an analysis that offers some possible explanations for why we might be lagging in philanthropic giving to climate action.

LinkedIn Releases Global Climate Talent Stocktake Report

New LinkedIn data reveals that although demand for green skills is projected to double by 2050, the current supply isn't keeping up, resulting in a significant skills gap. Key findings included:

• By 2050, there will be twice as many jobs requiring green skills as people qualified to fill them.
• Demand for talent (11.6%) grew twice as fast as supply (5.6%) between 2023 and 2024.
• Globally, job seekers with green skills see a 54.6% higher hiring rate than average.
